Table 12 - Twisting Wire Pairs To Increase Effective Wire Gauge
Twisting 2 or more pairs of wire together will increase the effective wire gauge size. For example, twisting
2 pairs of 26 AWG wire together will provide a pair of wires that is approximately equal to a single pair of 23 AWG
wire; twisting 3 pairs of 26 AWG wire together will provide a pair of wires that is approximately equal to a single
pair of 21 AWG wire.
